Frequently Asked Questions.
Q. What is the difference between a round and flat fan spray nozzle tip?
A. The main difference is the spray pattern itself. The round spray nozzle tip is going to give you a circular spray pattern that is beneficial for general projects, parts etc. It has a larger powder cloud whereas the flat fan spray nozzle tip is going to give you a more precise flat fanned out spray pattern. This is beneficial when it comes to large flat pieces and circular curved pieces, like wheel rims. The fan spray helps powder coaters to cover those hard to reach areas efficiently.
Q. Will my pump work with these hoppers?
A. The hoppers we sell are in fact compatible with both Gema and Wagner systems however, they are not compatible as is with Nordson systems.
Q. What is a fluidizing hopper and how is it different from a standard pressure hopper?
A. A fluidizing hopper is a hopper that has air constantly pumping into the hopper base which helps to keep the powder evenly mixed, conditioned, and overall provides for a smoother spray and finish. The continuous air being pumped in is how it drastically differs from a standard pressure hopper. Think of it as if your powder hose is a straw. The fluidizing hopper is essentially sucking up the powder through the "straw" to spray because of its constant air. Where as the pressure hopper is using the air pressure to essentially push the powder up and out of the "straw". To put it in simple terms, when it comes to pressure vs fluidizing, force is usually not as efficient as controlled consistency.
